PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technicians for Evening Shifts: 11:30am-8pm and 12:30-9pm
Position Description: The Pharmacy Technician II is Nationally Certified (PTCB) and assists team members, physicians and patients in the daily activities of data entry, processing refills, answering phone calls, and assists in clarifying physician orders - which are dispensed to our patients, or patient’s physician’s offices. These orders are shipped in house by our pharmacy warehouse staff to designated patients or providers as noted in the patient profile.
Key Responsibilities: Job requires judgement within defined policies and practices • Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with pharmacy policies and government regulations when entering medication orders into pharmacy dispensing system for pharmacist review • Assists with quality improvement initiatives • Calculates medication dosages needed for patients based on prescription and prescribing guidelines • Provides resolutions to a wide range of problems • Assists patients, providers and medical facilities through prompt management of inbound and outbound phone queues • Triaging inbound calls to the appropriate departments or associates • Maintains high level of professionalism when engaging in all forms of business activity • Demonstrate strong knowledge of program guidelines and processes by entering prescription information accordingly.
Required Qualifications: This position requires current PTCB Certification • Candidates must provide proof of current registration prior to being hired • Candidates must have shown success working in a team-oriented environment • Possess exceptional communication skills demonstrated by the ability to express ideas clearly through written and oral communication • Ability to read and interpret documents, processes and guidelines to carry out simple and complex instructions • Flexibility to change priorities as needed, evidenced by the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively •
Preferred Qualifications: Previous pharmacy data entry experience • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and perform simple and complex calculations • Experience communicating and engaging with members in all organizational roles.
