The funny thing is that we have so much energy to give now in the USA that only Europeans and the Asians are going to suffer from the Strait of Hormuz being shut down. it can still turn ugly and we know that Iran is still part of the axis of Evil. can you imagine Iran supporting the Chinese in the South China Sea with Russia?
Our just approved defense budget includes sale of over a hundred tanks and hundreds of anti-tank guided missile Javelin systems to Taiwan that has pissed the foxtrot off of China because they know that if they ever try to invade Taiwan, they're going to pay the price on the beaches!!
We have a mutual defense treaty with the Philippines, Taiwan and Japan. This could go ugly and nuclear real quick!

Will it go nuclear? Of course not. The Pacific area defense that China has been building for years is going to make the Japanese island defenses of WW2 look like a board game. No we shouldn’t underestimate the tightening alliance between China, Russia, and Iran. Their advantage is the close proximity of regional objectives that benefit each of them. Our physical location gives US favorable defensive advantage but a disadvantage for offensive operations in Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa. We depend heavily on alliances for base of operations but if we keep pissing off alliances with our Nationalist and Isolationist foreign policies. It will take more than a few tanks, anti tank missiles, and air defense weapon systems to fend off a conventional first strike. Countries like Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, S. Korea depend on US ability to project combat power quickly to their defense.

MAJ James Woods Worried Of Course but Not a Surprising Result of Our Current International Diplomacy or More Correctly Lack of Coherent International Diplomacy.
