Land navigation is a basic skill...except for lieutenants.

I have never understood why people find land nav so difficult? Perhaps it’s just because I did it so many years in Boy Scouts and hiking on my own with just a basic compass and topo map.

Even in flat desert areas I never found land nav to be that difficult.
