To be honest, this seems to be much ado about nothing. Personally, this is the first I have heard the term. If someone ever uses the phrase with me, I would just ignore them and walk away. Many years on earth has given us something young folks don't have yet, experience.

Maj Robert Thornton - Youth lacks both experience and judgement. Perhaps the latter can only come through the former.

My 'OK boomer' comment in parliament symbolised exhaustion of multiple generations
For a very long time, our politics has been run by older dudes in suits – but for democracy to work it must look like all of us

This is nothing new. Remember that in the 60s the hippie subsect of "Boomers" were openly disrespectful of their predecessors.
Since I left the military I have started working with native tribes in Alaska. One of the things I have come to respect about their culture is the great respect and deference shown to their elders. I wish that was emulated in our culture.

The story of Henry Norwest, a Cree ranch hand from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, and one of the most prolific snipers of the First World War. -----------------...
Yes, my Wife is Cree and they respect their Elders here in Alberta, Canada.
Natives are not really respected. My Wife's Great- great Grandfather was Canada's #2 Sniper in WW1 and we were getting funny looks by some of the Canadian Legion and Active Duty Soldiers on November 11, 2018 when my Wife and her relatives my Family-in-law were there at a Canadian Legion Canteen honoring Corporal Henry Norwest. Here is a video on the life of Corporal Henry Norwest. Native Canadians are often dishonored, mistreated, passed over, and discriminated against when applying for jobs or followed and assumed to be criminals, theives, drunks or hookers when they ignore the non-indigenous people types I just mentioned. My Wife says me being white with her totally changes the local boss, clerk or manager's attitude when we go out together. Canadians respect me but not natives. My Wife is sober, non-smoker, bachelor's degree and a heavy truck driver's license Woman and she gets the mean looks all the time.
