Contrary to popular belief in some circles, gun rights and 2d Amendment issues are not the center of the universe. Not even in circles that closely watch the courts. I would say that abortion rights is the primary driver here, and the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings bear that out.
There is no limit to the skullduggery some will commit to get their goals met. NO LIMIT.
This is a big gamble, even for them. But they rely on their shields in the press to cover for them.
