GySgt Thomas Vick - I really didn't have any idea what it was in basic in 68,i checked the charts for that time and it said $102,i do not remember getting more than $65 or $70 dollars for my first pay call.

1SG John Faircloth - If you looked for it,you could find "pot" growing in a lot of the places i was in.There may be some truth to the hype of Vietnam vets being high all the time, but i wasn't privy to any of it.Common sense makes this a story blown out of proportion,if everyone was high all the time everyone would be dead.
I know you are kidding, but there are way too many that believe the hype from the "journalist" of that period.

SSgt Terry P. - Wasn't just the pot; there were always the little green containers that were used for heroin laying on the ground every morning.

LTC John Griscom - I was probably far removed from these things, was never in a city or large base camp for more than a day, none of the Marines i knew did drugs.
