If the career politicians who made up these laws/regulations actually had to start businesses while living in and working in the places that are affected by their nanny-state BS, maybe they would understand.

How crazy regulations are struck home when I bought a set of luggage a few years ago. There were 5 tags on the luggage stating thinks like “This bag complies with federal airline regulation—“ , “ This luggage is made from material found to cause cancer in California “. Etc. Etc. Etc. I thought, “ If I want to make luggage where do I find all the regulations I have to comply with? When I did anesthesia we had to comply with the Joint commission on Accreditation. It is insane and those folks make up regulations as they go along. None of them seem to care about the cost or delays they cause in health care!

It's even hard for the kids to run a lemonade stand now.

Texas passed a law this year to stop the raids on lemonade stands.
