SSgt Boyd Herrst
Way back when I was in ‘Nam, I tested and made SSGT. The first time around.. I had good ideas that were working and the Airmen were enjoying great food.. we didn’t have obamite SJWs harping about carcinogens and what bar-b-Quing
Can do to one’s insides.. We got some good meats from Quartermaster Corps(Ration Breakdown). The O club got in some Briskets.. and we wanted some.. We had appropriated through another source some new
55 gallon drums. We worked out a deal with A welding shop to conver the barrels into BBQ grills/smokers..
We appropriated the wood (which came from a new landing zone for our grills. So e’thing came out nice. We smoked briskets for all of us.. the clubs and our field mess.
I don’t know who transposed the numbers for all them briskets but we all enjoyed them immensely..
somebody thinks it happened when the computers went down just before typing and sending the order. When it came back on-line it transposed the numbers. A lot of places got more than they ordered, not just us or the Clubs.. the computer geeks were too busy doing other computer work to figure why all the stock orders got doubled. Actually we all got what we needed and then some. Aero
Mechanics were happy they didn’t have to cannobolize other parts to get working parts off them.. which is dangerous anyway.. this was the days for those that still used carbon paper in typewriters .. now they had more than what was needed.
The base did ship and trade supplies with other bases to help them out..

Sometimes it seems that way. Let's blame all the bad senior officer and NCO behavior on this.
