After reading through the article.
1. I think the local artists would do well to pain a mural that more people could see by painting it on an exterior wall somewhere that people walk buy instead of inside a room.
2. To be honest I side with the building owner in this case "“Westdale has decided that instead of paying the artists to replace the original mural in Deep Ellum, those resources could be better allocated to directly have a positive impact on our military veteran community,” the company said."
Direct help to local veterans IMHO is a better use of funds than repainting a mural based on a photograph Marines break-dancing in front of an American flag in Djibouti, Africa.
3. The fact that the spokesperson is married to the USMC photographer who took the original picture and the next step is that several local artists "said their next move will be a protest" gives me pause.
