When I was in Vietnam in 65-66 I saw a lot of Korean troops. They were stationed at every Bridge, some had been blown up at least once. The ROK troops were the Tiger Division I believe Korea,s most Elite Division at that time. You wanted to get to the PX before the Korean,s did, They bought about everything in the PX and sent it back to Korea. We didn't get to the PX very often, The Koreans had just left the PX. We went in and it was almost empty. The PX wasn't very big but they emptied it out. Semper Fi.

I'd heard about that aspect, as with the ANZAC troops as well....

Some fierce and disciplined fighters. Was once hauling a squad from the camp south of Marble Mountain when we got strafed by small arms fire. Took out one engine, one hydraulics system and started a fire in the engine compartment that was spilling into the cabin. My left gunner caught a round in his leg and I elected to nurse the bird to a landing at the med station located at Marble. Shut the plane down and crew chief put the fire out while I followed my gunner into the hospital. When I was sure he was being cared for and was going to recover, I went back out to see what I had to do with the aircraft. I noticed the Koreans lined up in a formation on the side of the pad. Their NCOIC or OIC was methodically working his way through the formation beating the heck out of each man for evacuating the aircraft before he gave the word.
