MAJ James Woods LT Xxxx Parks told of losing three tanks in Korea. Along the way he received a direct commission, like so many, he departed the military.

I've interviewed a # of Korean Vets for my clinical research on combat trauma. Korea was declared a police action, not a declared Congressional War. The unfortunately followed the Greatest Generation of WW Two, and fought in their shadows. i refer to this conflict as the forgotten one. They are bitter that if permitted, they could have taken the entire peninsula!

That is correct. Technically it was categorized as a police action under the domain of the UN but it’s safe to say the level of intensity of the action and from the perspective of those that lived the experience (particularly the Koreans) it was a war. The US only intervened at the request of the UN as well as we didn’t want to see the spread of Communism by either the Soviets or the Chinese after WW2. Thank you. It was a UN action and not a declared war by any non-Korean nation.
Even today with the armistice and some arrogant US politicians insisting for a treaty to happen it has to be an agreement between the US and NK leaders. If I was either an UN or SK leaders, I would tell those arrogant American politicians to go stick it their preference where the sun don’t shone.
