Capt Daniel Goodman - You missed the small print of the Bonus. It's for 6 years Active Duty contract though so the Infantry Soldier will be a SSG at the time of reenlistment if they perform average. Given they eliminate half a future enlistment with the 6 year active contract and one opportunity to reclass.......it's not as generous as it seems on face value.

I hope so too, but thats unlikely ma’am.
As an Infantryman of 16 years, a huge majority of Soldiers that enlisted or even re-enlisted (primarily) because of a bonus, usually aren’t good at all.
Some of those Future Soldiers receiving that bonus will be good. It just so happened to be a good time for them to be eligible, but a majority will only be trouble and end up conducting an ETS as soon as their obligation is complete. Not worth the money for sure.
Recruiters just need to do their jobs...
Note: I’ve served as a Recruiter and a Drill Sergeant, so I can make that comment, lol.

Yeah, like I'd said, I'd thought that one funny, in its own weird way, though I could tell it was for real,.as.I'd sakd....

It's almost like robbing Peter to pay Paul. Yes it may get you recruits to join the various ranks but what happens when recruitment falls off in other specialties? Are they just going to continue shelling out money to recruit in every branch? Eventually, you need to alter your hiring methods. They kids will take that money and get out within a few years after they truly see what it's like being in the infantry. Not an easy life.
