The important thing to remember here is that (a statement of opinion) "Gun Control" isn't about "Gun Safety". It's about control...plain and simple. If they came out said, "Ok, ok...what we really want is to disarm all you backwards, backwoods, religious zealots and minuteman wannabes so we can impose socialism and get power without those bothersome elections"...they'd have trouble. Instead, they indoctrinate our children to believe they will literally die if we don't pass stricter regulations, they guilt the average gun owner into accepting ever more restrictive practices, and (hey, I'll call a spade a spade) probably work in conjunction with media to convince us that "gun grabs" are just around the corner... so that the prices for firearms and ammo go through the roof (making some tidy profits as a side-show)...and here's some scary stuff for ya-Maybe they're even PROMOTING the idea that without $10,000 of gear, three days of CrossFit a week, and some snazzy "morale patches" and irreverent tee-shirts, (not that quality fitness/training/kit isn't great) you wouldn't stand a chance-thereby creating an interesting (and somewhat counterproductive) sub-culture of gun-owners who are more likely to be fiscally conservative, but socially liberal-ish, naturally dismissive of the old guy with a "thurdy-thurdy" (whose probably spent more time in the woods than they have), and whether they (I, we...whatever) wanna admit it, likely more easy to identify since "unknown" parties have been tracing their purchasing, browsing, social media info for over a decade. It's a multi-prong attack that's the classic "boiling the frog by degrees" scenario. Sometimes, I figure "they" are all in on it...and the ultimate goal is to produce an American population that has long since forgot what's worth fighting for... even if they're armed to the teeth while living in their comfortable, self-imposed gilded cages. The answer is simple; we're Americans...and we have the right to bear arms, whether that's "Pops" and his jam-ridden Ruger .22, or "Junior" and his decked out 5.56 carbine with infrared dot and helmet mounted NVGs. It's not what they're trying to regulate...it's what they're slowly causing us to forget; that a little less than three centuries ago, a comparatively small group of farmers, shop-keepers, and tradesmen were almost beaten into submission by the most powerful military on earth...only to come back stronger, smarter, and better. They didn't win because they all finally got French muskets and matching uniforms (even though that's what discipline and training do for you)...they won because at their heart, they knew what was at stake, and valued it more than the British valued the cost of keeping her colonies. Our best defense of our rights is exactly the same...what we value. If those things are liberty, prosperity, justice, truth, responsibility, and morality (define that as you will)... "they" will eventually lose.
