I became risk adverse as a tanker due to it being a very dangerous vehicle. I still carry that attitude today.

I was not a tanker but worked on and around them. Saw to many had things happen.

CW5 Jack Cardwell - Yes the risks include rollovers, the breach hitting the loader, the driver getting decapitated by the turret, the tank commander eating a M2 when the tank stops suddenly.

MAJ Ken Landgren my worst was a HE round exploding in tube on a M60A1. Driver was an untrained, a parts clerk who left his hatch partly open. Shrapnel entered opening and ricocheted around.
