Jack we would joke about having to carry 200 lbs of light weight gear. I am a firm believer that if we can make it better, lighter while making our people more dangerous for bad guys by all means do it.

In my view this sounds like the thing to do! The more compact and rugged the helmut while being light will minimize fatigue, protect important comms and night vision equipment & more, making the Corps and the Army infantry more powerful under adverse or severe conditions... Anything that reduces weight is an asset provided it also protects the Marine, soldier or other ground troops! Great Post CW5 Jack Cardwell !!!
