Great, this person’s times are similar to my 15 year old son’s times. My son already outweighs me by at least 10 lbs even though I am still an inch or 2 taller than him. His skeleton is much larger than mine. Hand and feet are much larger than mine and he is already stronger than me even though I work out daily.
I am fine with trans people being able to live their lives and don’t want to deny then the right to do so but when scholarships and women’s competitive sports are at play maybe a line needs to be drawn for these specific things. Intramural sports and club sports I am fine with. Want to run in your local 5k as a female, fine. I have an issue where financial gain is involved. Maybe, say full surgery must be performed before before someone can compete as a female? I am not sure but open to suggestions on what might work.

SSgt Addison R. - I think most people are more of the live and let live variety but stuff like this really hurts the trans cause. It makes average people who normally don’t care what trans people do take the side against them. The average person can look around and SEE that the average woman is much smaller than the average man. They remember participating in sports in high school and have seen the disparity in average athletic abilities for themselves. People doing this like the ones in the article make others think that here was these people with mediocre times as male athletes claim trans to be able to dominate in women’s competitions with the same times. That makes many women angry because it is seen as unfair. I know some women who are 6’ tall but MOST of the other women I know are similar in size to me at 5’6”. https://www.cyclingweekly.com/news/latest-news/rachel-mckinnon-becomes-first-transgender-woman-win-track-world-title-397473
Look at the size difference of the competitors in this story. Yes early on the biological females were winning when they had much more skill but once the stronger competitor gained a bit of skill they dominate. In some sports strenght can make up for lack of skill. I have done a lot of martial arts over the years and have been in a real life situation to use them to defend myself against a similarly sized male. My skill saved me that day because we were similarly sized. If he was 6’ 200 lbs like my husband there is a large possibility that it wouldn’t have ended positively for me.

SSgt Addison R. - Probably because you are more than just your group identity. You choose to think for yourself. We should go have beers or sangria some time...

What if we had groups for all. So we have Male, female, nonbinary and so on. Why not have competing groups for male, female, nonbinary, trans male and trans female, and every other group. We have so much need to identify and I believe we all need to feel that acceptance for what we want for ourselves. But I can't do the bare minimum to call myself "female" and then compete with them. It's not fair and at this point I could do full surgery, hormonal therapy, but when do we say I meet the average female figure or the above average build in strength and such? I don't like how it sounds discriminatory for this, I can't think of a fair way even if I went along this path for self-identify.

SSgt Addison R. I played volleyball in high school and ot was by far viscous compared to football. Broken noses from failed blocks and busted kneecaps everywhere. You missed out haha
I agree with you, by the time we can make decisions for ourselves and pay for it the body has changed and its quick difficult to turn back time physically like this. There shouldn't be a need for the asterisk for anyone.
