Carry what you are comfortable with and that you can shoot accurately with. He at least mention that the 9mm would have faired better in the test if hollow points had been used more often.

One of the old Rifleman articles had one that compared different defensive handgun calibers using a range of duty and self defense oriented ammo on ballistic gel or ballistic gel with a coat over it. I'll see if I can dig that one up when I get a chance.
Yes, the 9mm performed fine with the right ammo. The 45 ACP still did better and the 10mm does as well as some of the larger revolver rounds.

The higher a caliber in a pistol, the fewer rounds it carries. Full-size 9mm pistols usually carry 17 in the mag and one in the hole. Bigger than that=fewer rounds.
