A little aviator dark humor. When the Corps first bought the Harrier, the joke was that the easiest way to get one was to own a home on the approach end of the runway at Cherry Point.

So true. Several mishaps there with Harriers. One flipped and crashed on the apron. One went through H&HS hangar a few minutes after a formation inside. Clipped the tail off MCAS CG (MajGen Kuci) A4. and took out some vehicles outside. Another involved a maintenance guy that accidentally fired the Martin Baker. Really bad one at Yuma that killed the Colonel. Very troubled history.

I was on a crew that responded to a crash at Bogue Field ALF, NC around 81-83. Increased 24 hour security because it was an EA6-B from VMAQ2 full of jamming gear.
