Regardless of his years in the ministry, the punishment should fit the crime.
He is wholly unrepentant and unremorseful, seemingly oblivious to the charges brought against him.
Denying them doesn't make him any less guilty and his time at the pulpit should be considered as his crime being all the more heinous and despicable. Seventy-Two years is about the right number.
My hat is off to his daughter who is a brave young lady for publicly speaking out about it when most would prefer to simply secret themselves away. May the good Lord cause the deep emotional scaring to fade from her memory quickly so she can live a healthy and enthusiastic life.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel 50 years ago, Original Ranger Ray O’Dell told about items of interest to the Pre-WW II KKK in West Virginia.
Abuse, neglect and failure to properly care for your family would cause you to be visited by the Klan. That would be strike one.
After that, a father’s repeated malfeasance's would cause additional, more memorable, nighttime visits by the Klan. CW5 Jack Cardwell
Do other RP’ers recall hearing similar tales about the pre-war Klan in Appalachia?

I wish that was a capital offense again.
Then he blamed the child.
Judge must be doing the same thing.
