MY COMMENT:
Still looking for where John Ring said there was "inadequate care" at the US military detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He actually said no such thing. Human rights attorney Patricia Stottlemyer was quoted as saying that, but that's her interpretation. Where has she been for the past 17 years? While serving at Gitmo as the ranking US Army Medical Department officer with the Joint Detainee Operations Group, Joint Task Force 160, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, from FEB - JUN 2002, International Committee of the Red Cross physicians I worked with there and later in Iraq, told me, "No one does [detention operations] better than the US." Indeed, one of my complaints while there was that detainees were receiving SUPERIOR medical care to that of the guard force. It is absurd to suggest that detainees at Gitmo have had anything other than world class medical, dental and vision care. Certainly better than they enjoyed probably at any other time in their lives. Even suggesting that care is "inadequate" or sub-par in any way is a complete fabrication.
