A Look at Improvisation and the Application of the "Snail Offensive"

I included the link to the CMH Pub 104-1 that I pulled the information on the Snail Offensive from. I think I got my copy back when I was at FT Knox in the late 80s at AOBC. I have re-read it about ever 10 years it seems. For those unfamiliar with the series - which are online in the Army Historical departments files (as are many great after the war items), this series of books were written by German Commanders as they were held after the war and written in the German prospective of the fight and of their tactics. One of the best ideas we ever had was to capture those very items for history so that wee have first hand accounts of combat on the East Front that is there for the record for all times to come.... and not re-written accounts like would have happened if the Soviets had the lead.
