Any teacher that agrees to be armed will also receive advanced training, which would include when a firearm could be used. This arguement above doesn't pass the smell test.

If a student brings a gun to school, and starts shooting, who's going to stop him, it sure isn't the cops, the late big school shooting in Florida proved that.

We must also be concerned about negligent discharges from teachers' guns...

Teacher shoots himself in classroom
An unidentified teacher shot himself at the Atlanta school he's worked at for the last 18 years on Thursday. Police say it still remains unclear if the incident was a suicide attempt or an accident.

LTC Eugene Chu very true sir, that's where training comes in, and making sure that the person is competent.

LTC Eugene Chu This individual did not have the necessary training nor permission to have a firearm at the school. According to the article they were not sure it wasn't a suicide attempt.
By your statement, anyone who has a firearm, is a potential threat for negligent discharge. Included would be any LEO acting as a school resource officer, all military members, etc.

LTC Eugene Chu - A gun in a holster will not discharge, accidentally or otherwise.
