The Democrats were very successful at convincing people that this was a tax cut for the rich, and that the rest of us were just getting "crumbs".
It is true that some saw a tax increase in states with high income and/or property taxes.
What they leave out is that the people adversely affected by the Trump tax cut are people not like most of us. In New York State for example (not the city, which has its own income tax), you'd have to make over $250k to even begin to trigger the cap, and close to $300k before you start getting in the red. Sounds like a tax increase on the wealthy to me.
Even Cuomo admits that tax policy is driving residents to leave for greener tax pastures in TX and FL.
