Thank you, my friend SGT (Join to see) for sharing the music video of Gerry Rafferty performing the long version of his classic song "Baker Street"
I well remember this hauntingly beautiful song
Rest in peace Gerry Rafferty!
"Baker Street" written by Gerry Rafferty
Lyrics
Winding your way down on Baker Street
Light in your head and dead on your feet
Well, another crazy day
You'll drink the night away
And forget about everything
This city desert makes you feel so cold
It's got so many people, but it's got no soul
And it's taken you so long
To find out you were wrong
When you thought it held everything
You used to think that it was so easy
You used to say that it was so easy
But you're trying, you're trying now
Another year and then you'd be happy
Just one more year and then you'd be happy
But you're crying, you're crying now
Way down the street there's a light in his place
He opens the door, he's got that look on his face
And he asks you where you've been
You tell him who you've seen
And you talk about anything
He's got this dream about buying some land
He's gonna give up the booze and the one-night stands
And then he'll settle down
In some quiet little town
And forget about everything
But you know he'll always keep moving
You know he's never gonna stop moving
'Cause he's rolling, he's the rolling stone
And when you wake up, it's a new morning
The sun is shining, it's a new morning
And you're going, you're going home"

For some reason this song fascinated me. I've never been a big fan of the saxophone but the use of one in this song was brilliantly arranged. You used the term "Hauntingly Beautiful" and I am inclined to agree that is just what it was.
Thanks for posting the lyrics, brother Stephen and have a great day!

I concur with your assessment about this song LTC Wayne Brandon
That being said I enjoy a tenor sax especially in the Jazz Bop and Be Bop eras as well as occasionally in rock songs
More often I enjoy Bob Seger, Huey Lewis and the News, Men At Work song which also include sax playing.
From https://musicfeeds.com.au/features/sax-appeal-12-songs-that-prove-saxophones-belong-in-rock-roll/#z6zue6UGLjmFyqWq.99
Here are some songs with saxophone playing
Huey Lewis and the News – I Want A New Drug
Surf rockers The Revels - Comanche
Pink Floyd – Us And Them
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band – Jungleland
David Bowie – Modern Love
Men At Work – Who Can It Be Now?
The Rolling Stones – Slave
"Slave featured on The Rolling Stones‘ 1981 album Tattoo You. Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, the song features legendary jazz and hard bop saxophonist Sonny Rollins. No strangers to sax, the band’s classic 1972 album Exile on Main St was filled with plenty of alto and tenor too."
Bob Seger – Old Time Rock and Roll
