Simply put, markets exist to solve problems. Those who solve problems effectively prosper in a free market economy. This breeds innovation and prosperity for both the producer and society. Is it a perfect system? No, but undermining this basic principle creates mediocrity - the bedrock of socialism and the ultimate destruction of a society.
