So...much...this.
We ask why current generations seems to be "lacking" in comparison to their predecessors...I believe this is one of the primary reasons why. We've largely embraced a "risk management" culture that micromanages rather than delegates, and waits for instructions as opposed to showing initiative. It's not because people are less intelligent, or less capable...but because we've become terrified of making mistakes.
