William, it's ironic that the posting that I have about 289 likes was the posting of shouldn't teachers be allowed to carry a concealed weapon in the at School ? Certain teachers and teachers union people have to go put on a Depends diaper or go run to the toilet in fear of my questions. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. Train as you fight and never give up with a winning attitude! You can't tell that to the Haight-Ashbury cohort who smokes dope and feel sorry for themselves. Sorry if I pissed some people but I'm really upset at former Governor Jerry Brown taking the authority away from school district managers and made it a state law or no state or County School person can carry a concealed carry except for law enforcement. That makes all schools open to active shooter attacks since your assigned school police officers are not always on campus! In one rare occasion, the police officer on campus became a coward. Common sense States like Texas have signs warning perpetrators that School faculty may be armed!

Capt Gregory Prickett - Good for the Argyle ISD and the additional safety that proclamation has caused. Do you think any shooter is going to take on armed teachers? NEVER!

SFC Jim Ruether but you couldn't convince an idiot like former Governor Jerry Brown. He also tried to ban any rifle magazine over 10 shots in California and make it a felony. Can you imagine the National Guard soldier who happen to have a 30 round magazine or your grandfather happen to have a 20 round magazine for his Browning automatic rifle from World War II or the Great War and now you are a convicted felon? The Science of Stupid in California. Luckily, we actually had a conservative judge but thought that was unconstitutional but I'm sure Jerry Brown, the new governor and all of Jerry's Kids in Sacramento were probably running to the toilet when they heard that. I still can't believe the idiocy of the leftist government of California to make it open season for schools in California or any school faculty member can't get the superintendent of their school district to allow them to have a concealed carry. I I am so ashamed of how California has become.

They very well might not take on a teacher so they possibly could target the next soft target available. SFC Jim Ruether

Wyatt Earp said "Fast is fine, but accuracy is final". Pretty much sums it up. You can't miss fast enough to win a gunfight.

He also said (I believe) "Make haste slowly". Those have always been my watchwords.

I always liked this quote by Wyatt; "My name is Wyatt Earp! It all ends now"

Capt Gregory Prickett - Thank you. There are a a lot of sayings like this the origin of which are unknown to me. They just stuck in my mind and became part of my problem solving matrix. Now if I could get just get my mouth to follow suit, I would be much better off. I can be too passionate at times.

Actually, I liked the movie Earp's quote: "You tell them I'M coming! And Hell is coming with me!"
As to gunfighting, I don't have much experience in it, as my last shots fired in anger were in 1969 in Vietnam, so I don't know how I'd do - I'll only ever find out "in the moment" (if it ever comes to me), I guess. However, based on my experiences with "buck fever," I would think the "stay calm, take care of business" is easier said than done by the average person. It takes an exceptional person to remain calm and "make haste slowly" when the adrenalin is flowing and bullets are flying or deadly danger threatens.
