Thank you, my friend SPC Britanny *Winnie* Balthaser for posting an interesting subject.
Autism is not a monolithic disease. Rather autism presents a range of capabilities and limitations.
I think that this individual should have been able to take the ASVAB if for not other reason than to further populate the baseline in responses.

Apparently he is a member of the NY State Guard (not National Guard), and cites passing basic training as evidence that he can handle the military. I'm not familiar with the one week initial entry training they conduct at Camp Smith, but doubt that it permitted him to experience the level of stress Army BCT would generate.
