Before I read the Story I thought of California or some other left coast state as the place that did such a stupid thing. But either way The mom is right if you were born a guy/gal I don't care how you dress how many surgery's you get you are still a guy or gal. The guy that does full contact fighting as a female who claims to be a female is still a guy. These guys who cannot compete in a males world switch to being female and start living large. If I was female and thought the way I do know I would be pissed with these fakers. I still believe in don't ask don't tell. Which comes down to live and let live but no special treatment just because you want to be different. If you want to dress or be something else keep it to yourself. I don't want to know and don't really care if it has no bearing in my life.
