I can see both side of this proposal. It's not like the military moves your household goods on a PCS, everything gets contracted out to commercial moving companies and the military inspects their work so you essentially have a private move. The article makes it sound like the military may have become lax on the inspection of the companies conducting the moves and complaints about the service provided. I don't see how privatizing moves is going to improve that situation since the companies would then have no motivation to improve service as long as the they accomplished the move. Watch some court tv shows, they frequently have cases involving moving companies so the concept that privatized military moves will be a good thing seems a bit far fetched to me. Thoughts from RP?
