Naval Academy grad faces attempted murder charges

I do not see the significance of identifying him as a Naval Academy Grad when it has nothing to do with the charges. If he graduated from Penn State University would they have mentioned he graduated there. Attempted Murder is what is significant...it is all that matters in this article.

It matters because of prestige of school and naval service. Way back in 1997, there was the Texas Cadet Murder. An Air Force Academy cadet and Naval Academy midshipman both got charged and later convicted of a murder they committed together while in high school.
