It takes options away and limits people... you can redirect... but negatives tend to put people in a bad mood.... Nasty and Upchuck want to open the government.... but saying the magic deal breaking word of No early in the negotiation, Ironically has the effect of breaking the deal

There already was a deal then the POTUS pulled the rug out from under them. Since one party is clearly negotiating in bad faith it's moved into a distributive negotiation. It's no wonder the Ds are not willing to work at a integrative negotiation, it's not possible when one party doesn't negotiate in good faith.

Cpl Benjamin Long I have a larger violin for the people not getting paid because our POTUS is willing to use them as pawns to play politics.
Personally when we started seeing shutdown for politics used in earnest back in 2013 or so I believed, and still believe, that the other side should just stop negotiating until the government is re-opened. Otherwise this will keep happening.

Cpl Benjamin Long I had to drive 60 miles away when a local dealer would not meet the Costco price. He gave me some BS re: neighbors and friends, but would not meet the price available 60 miles away!
He is still in business, some people buy his BS and aren’t shoppers.
