Well most of the Native Americans died of lack of immunity to European diseases vs any type of violence. If we settled the United States today the same thing would have probably happened as history was repeated with several South American tribes post 1900. Having said that we do have bad history with Native Americans but the converse is also true. Some Native American tribes were just purely savage and not only to settlers but to any other foreign tribe that would encroach on their territory. I submit they would have been toast even if we were settling the country today.
