Honestly- isn't any killing really a hate crime? When we talk about divisiveness we always have to give one group creed over another. When it all boils down- we are all human and every crime against someone is in reality a hate crime. When we work really really hard at classification of the victim we are in essence perpetuating the thing we are trying to get rid of....

SrA John Monette - concur. Different category altogether. Justifiable- I think if someone is walking around my home when the door was locked and he broke in- gives me the right to ensure he does not leave if I so choose. I will defend mine.

The term "hate crime" is a redundancy all in it's own! It rates up there with "assault weapon".
