We had a field first sergeant when I was in Vietnam who was a member in Hiller's youth army. He would take milk cartons with him when we went back to the bush. The milk clabered which he had acquired a taste for in post WWII Germany. He told us he was starving and woiud eat out of garbage cans on US bases. He was killed on 20 June 1969 on LZ Mustang.

There were a number of people who survived camps and then went on to join the US or UK forces. I have great admiration for all of them.

My father was one such survivor. He worked on B-52 Air Frames as an Airman.
