This bullshit needs to stop! All I ever hear is conservatives and liberals just shouting past each other and NEVER listening to what the other is saying. JHC! Neither sude has all the answers.

Maj Kevin "Mac" McLaughlin - "I expect them to also denounce the confirmed violence, and other immoral activities when they run rampant."
Like President Trump did in response to Charlottesville?

SCPO Jason McLaughlin - And I've expressed my displeasure for Trump's inability to communicate well. But I will also add that no GOP member or conservative condones the activities displayed by both sides in the Charlottesville event. The objectives of the White supremacy movements are not held by myself, the GOP platform, or any true conservative. While they might hold some conservative values, that does not make them someone I or any significant conservative leader associate with. The same cannot be said for the significant leaders of the left and their support for the movements I mentioned earlier.
Allow me to also add, I do not make excuses for one's behavior by pointing out those of others. My 10 year old does that. Justifying the left's support and inaction of the movements I mentioned by pointing out your perception of Trump's behavior is a childish argument.

Maj Kevin "Mac" McLaughlin - 10 years old would be about the right age that someone could recognize the hypocrisy of the statement you made, and insulting me to deflect that the leader of the GOP and Conservatism does not live up to your standards is ironic.

Insulting you? No, I am characterizing the argument you made. First of all, I referenced specifically what Democrats do (and don't do) for organizations they associate with which create violence. You in turn pointed at Trump, referencing the people protesting VA. The thing is, they do not speak for the GOP/conservatives, nor do the GOP or conservatives align to their groups. So when Trump (whom I conceded has a problem communicating) chooses not speak out directly at the White Nationalists (again groups who he does not align to or speak for). He stated:
"We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence, on many sides. On many sides. It's been going on for a long time in our country. Not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama. This has been going on for a long, long time."
He even followed up after being challenged with:
"Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans,"
Once again, the GOP and Trump do not align themselves or defend the racist groups which chose to cause violence in VA. Thus they are not in part responsible for the actions they take. The same cannot be said for the left with regards to the organizations I named.
So you accuse me of deflecting, when in truth, by definition, YOU are the one who used a deflective argument that was not only wrong, but it was essentially the same thing a 10 year old does to defend their actions (by saying "he did it too"). So if you feel insulted, so be it. Don't justify bad behavior by pointing out YOUR perception of someone else's bad behavior (regardless of the fact it is inaccurate).
