These are the reasons why I think the US will be the target for terrorists:
- We support Israel.
- The US is considered by many to be the pinnacle of the "Evil West", kind of a rallying cry.
- Our politics and imperialism has intruded on the ME for decades, often supporting dictators.

Well, we will continue to support Israel. More Jews live in the US than in Israel. They are our longest and best ally in the ME. The US are not now, and have never been Imperialists. We joined WWII after being attacked, and we finished the fight and then established the Marshall Plan. We are in places like Germany, Japan and Italy over 73 years after the end of WWII not as conquerors, but as liberators and friends. We are other places in the world legitimately defending the interests of the United States and our allies.

Indeed. But it must be done. The Marshall Plan WORKED. A Mid-East Marshall Plan, sponsored and administered by Arab states, could work. We don't need to be involved other than offering infrastructure and trade partnerships. The Arabs nations in the region have an interest in peace, especially if we phase out of the security mission eventually. They can afford it.

I believe the best way to fight terrorism is for locals or indigenous people to fight the terrorists. The Taliban is waging war on ISIS now. However, many governments give legitimate causes to insurgents for the way they rule.
