What do you REALLY know about the Southwest Asia Service Medal?

Another interesting fact about this campaign medal was the fact that it was the first since WWII to actually contain red, white and blue similar to the three campaign ribbons/ medals from the same. I'm not discounting the Expeditionary Medal just referencing the fact Korea and Vietnam didn't have red, white and blue.
