Good day Col.
I enjoyed the read and I have to agree with the articles statement that a global Caliphate is a pipe dream. However, Islam is brought into the west not to form a global Caliphate. It is brought into the west to cause chaos. See Europe and Dearborn MI. as examples.
There will be islands of savagery. We call it cancer.
Islam is one part of a full court press to destroy culture and grow a larger central government. IMO Sir. Also, the world system with America's military power appears to be supporting a Sunni Caliphate ruled by Turkey.

Yes, true. Islands of chaos, as a cancer to the body of America, is a very good metaphor for Islamism.

I tend to disagree with that analysis, just look at some countries in Europe, the Moslem immigration its already showing the trend via the democratic system, the Arabs have a great birth ratio and it will take some time, but they will accomplish the "caliphate" by democratic means, obtaining the institution of Sharia as the law of the land, it only takes 30 to 35 % of the population to gain the upper hand in a process of democratic elections, just look at Sweden and Denmark what a huge problem they already have and Denmark only have a Moslem population of about 20-25%, not to mention Spain, the UK, France, Italy, etc.
The idea opf the caliphate is by the word or by the sword, so in my opinion, some European countries will become Sharia entities, I pray that the rest of the western world will observe and react on time to counteract the problem, by the way, we are not talking about Jihadists, but regular " moderate" Moslems, the jihadists are the one creating chaos in Europe and the M East, but at the same time the conquest continues, all the best to you, Sir.

Interesting perspective. But the main point of the article shows that time and again, moderate Muslims in realtively peaceful wealthy nations don't want, and won't vote for Sharia or any form of Islamism they view as harmful to their children's future opportunities.

Good day Colonel, that is correct in certain cases, unfortunately the "moderate Muslims" do not go against the extremists in an open way, they may not fully agree with such a doctrine, but it's unlikely that they will take an open and active participation against them, for fear of violence, in doing that, they actually pave the way for the extremists to have more power.
See as an example the extreme quick expansion of ISIS in Iraq and Syria in 2014, also pay attention to the expansion of Iran in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Lebanon, obtaining power and influence via proxi- militias ( Shia), were Isis was pre-dominantly Sunni, in any case it's the same goal, to build the Islamic State, Sunni ( Isis) or Shia ( Iran ) Also Mr. Erdogan of Turkey has similar aspirations ( The Ottoman empire ).
All of the above are extreme ideologies that are working in any way possible to create the Muslim Caliphate in any shape or form, indeed it is a cancer within the western countries, because it is totally opposite to a free and democratic ideology were the individual freedom and thinking is paramount.
