The conditions of these detention facilities is disgusting. Whenever there are children that are being held in detention, the facilities are to comply with state and/or local child welfare code requirements. And not just child welfare code requirements for foster families, but also for juvenile detention facilities. This was part of the settlement agreement reached by the US government several years ago. The US government has routinely ignored those codes when it comes to immigrant detention facilities where children are held.

I'm sorry for her loss. HOWEVER, I'll hold judgement until the autopsy report is released. On another note, I'll address the elephant in the room.....where was the outcry over these facilities during Obama's tour in office?

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - First, you do not know the conditions of her home country or the situation that cause them to leave. Second, you do not know that the child got sick while in the facility in the United States. There are conditions and diseases that take time to develop and the child could have been exposed long before being placed into the facility. And there are diseases that are fast acting and could have been developed after leaving. That is why you have to wait for the autopsy report to be released. Finally, there were cases during OBAMA Administration of sick children being in facilities with lack of medical staff. Where was the outcry then? What about them?
