There is no way in hell I'd pay $60,000 for a wedding. For her to get mad because folks don't want to pony up $1000-$1500 each so you could party like it's 1999.99999 is petty. If I were the groom, I would've driven her to the nearest recruiting station, asked what MOS was giving the biggest bonus, make her enlist, and the second she gets the bonus, hopefully we'd be $20,000 closer to being married.
