VETERAN REALITY CHECK - Know the culture (Best with Sound)
First video of the daily series. To see more bookmark the page https://usveteranjobs.com/reality-check-series/
Goal: to make Veterans more aware of common mistakes...and have a little fun doing it.
We are not defining silver bullets, we are NOT going to change behaviors in 60 seconds. We just want more to THINK - PLAN - DO!
The little things are what hurt you the most. You only get one chance to get a job, don't blow it because you didn't know.

Great suggestion, but how? Ask a civilian? I would bet the farm that not one in a thousand could tell you. It's like learning a language. Immerse yourself in the culture. Tread cautiously and keep tuned into how people respond to each other and how they respond to you. Don't worry about failing in an interview. Here, let me guarantee it. You will fail until you learn the ropes. If there's a job that you really, really want, don't make it your first job interview. Practice. How do you practice? Ask a friend. I've done it for others and I bet your friends can put you in touch with an HR person (that's Human Resources) who will give you a mock interview, and surprise of surprises, they may even like you and offer a job.
