It is great news that 25-year-old Salahaldeen Odeh vaulted a counter and pummelled two armed would-be thieves with his fists in an effort to avoid being attacked himself.
Salahaldeen Odeh, who had been hoping for a quiet night as he settled in for the overnight shift at the store in Hamilton last week, said he jumped into action because he didn’t want to get shot.

Heck, in the US convenience store corporate would fire him for not following company policy of complying with demands of thief.

Pretty much my thinking as well. But, you must remember that those rules are made for teens and young people with no training in self defense, not ex military. Still think rules are dumb though.
