I don't have any sympathy, this is the same guy that used the CIA to hack the Senate computer system and used it to spy on specific Senators, they lied to Congress when they asked him about it. Should have been fired then and had his security classification revoked. I would have revoked it just based on that past history of abuse in addition to his involvement with the Steel dossier. More than enough for me to revoke it. Though I would not care what he says on TV, I don't think many people listen to him anymore.

Take the clearance based off facts, and loss of job position. That IS the right thing to do. To do so because of a made up reason only makes you look petty. Like you can't handle criticism.
"White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders read a statement on behalf of the president during the start of the press briefing, saying Brennan “has a history that calls his credibility into question.”
The statement also claimed Brennan had been "leveraging" the clearance to make "wild outbursts" and claims against the Trump administration in the media. Come on man. Isn't this the pot calling the kettle black? He said Obama wasn't born here. Was a part of the "birther movement". How can you talk about someone else's credibility when yours is shot too? Dude made all kinds of claims and statements before and after that were shown to be not true. Saunders even had to apologize for his claim about jobs. Be professional in what you do. Knock it out of the box, and be remembered for it. Don't be the petulant child who lashes out at people when you don't get you ego stroked every two minutes. It only makes folks believe the lies are the truth, and the truth is the lie.

SSG Warren Swan - It wasn't only POTUS that had concerns. Senator Rand Paul accused him more than once of leaking classified information after he left office. Granted it looks bad and Trump probably is revoking the clearence because hs is mad at something Brennan said. I think he should have had it revoked though and the point is he shouldn't even be using it unless Trump needs to consult with him on a National Security issue............which is not likely to happen as Brennan burned those bridges right after his first breifing of Trump during the transition................it should have been yanked then.

SPC Erich Guenther Really? Rand Paul? Let’s do that again..Rand Paul has concerns. Now while I’m laughing at the fact that guy creates more drama than the Kardashian’s in Congress, his being ‘concerned’ about anything is laughable. Dude is probably the biggest grandstander Congress has ever had. Party be damned. Brennan should’ve lost it the second the transition was done. Maybe kept it for a little longer for residual information to pass onto his relief. To revoke it because you got mad is not the professional way to handle things. Paul concerned about someone leaking. Where does Paul work again? 1000 of the biggest ‘leakers’ of all time. AKA congress. They ‘leak’ ish just to feel important when they’re not in the news cycle for awhile. If you had said almost any other name, I would’ve held my laughter in unless you said Pelosi, Feinstein, Rubio, or Cruz.

Of course it was necessary as matter fact I never would’ve imagined it wasn’t automatically done as soon as government service had ended
It’s an atrocity that every former X fired released retired no longer serving in the position government employee does not automatically have their security Clarence terminated why in gods name does the ex FBI director the X secretary of anything the ask anybody have need for a security Clarence
Simply insane
If after government service they get a private industry job that requires a security Clarence they reapply just like everybody else in the military does and if they qualify they get a security Clarence again

SGM that is how it's supposed to work. I had my TS, and when I didn't need it, it was downgraded until I did. S2 could see I had one, but.... this is something that was done as a "courtesy" by members of senior government for decades. Hell I went through Ft. Meade for mine, they go directly to the FBI to be investigated. Mine took 18months to fully clear, no interim, they get their interim in two weeks, full a short while later, and they see more than I'll ever dream of when I had mine. Maybe they should practice what they preach. If you leave/fired/retired/died in position, your need to know and access is over the second you're read out. That is being a professional and maintaining the standard. This one was not it the way it's framed.

There is NOTHING PETTY about this. First, Brennan is NO LONG in a position which requires him to have a security clearance. One part of having access to classified information is the need to know. He NO LONGER requires a need to know. Therefore, pulling his clearance is JUSTIFIED. Second, when Brennan left the CIA, he had to sign nondisclosure agreement. JUST LIKE I HAD TO DO WHEN I RETIRED. If he says anything that is CLASSIFIED, HE CAN GO TO JAIL.

Actually there is. No ones remotely saying he should’ve kept his clearance. If he has no need to know, has no need for access, then he should’ve been read off like everyone else, and be gone. When you wait until someone says something you don’t like about you, it becomes petty and personal. Both are wrong.

Should all Soldiers with cleaeances upon ETS or retirement be stripped of security clearances. Jobs pay big dollars for those with a valid security clearance.

That's my question as well. Everyone of my soldiers who ETSed still have their clearance. It would be a bummer if they lose it.

MSG (Join to see) - After I retired, I still maintained/had a security clearance although I did not have the need to know or access. However, after looking more into the Brennan thing, it was not just that he did not have a need to know. There was more to it. Still, President Trump has the authority to revoke it. The Democrats are just blowing thing out of proportion again.
