The way I look at is like John Wayne said in McClintock when he ws correcting a young man on being just a farmhand and he could do nothing. John Wayne said to him..."Son you have it all wrong. Everyone works for someone...I work for everyone that goes into a restaurant and wants a t bone steak and you work for me no difference." They work for the fans through Jerry Jones...Jerry Jones is their boss and they work for him. Therefore they do what he says. I work for my boss and he tells me what to do and I do it. Simple concept unless you are entitled. We put these pro athletes on a pedestal because they were lucky enough to have a God given talen to play football that none of us have. We all have talents but theirs is football and we make it out to be something heroic...there is nothing heroic about stepping onto a football field. They make crazy money and feel like they can snub their noses ant the very folks that pay their salaries...the fans!!! What I mean is that these entitled football players are complaining aobut how much they make and it leads them to lifelong injuries...well you knew what you were getting into when you went to work for the football fans that support your scrawny ass. Take that money and invest it and live a long happy life when you are done. Bottom line for me is that he has the purse strings...you do what he says or you don't get paid...go home or play for someone else. I really don't know how the NFL proper can censor an owner or tell him what he is going to do with his team...he is the one paying the bills.

Yeah he's the boss and if all his employees suddenly decided to say screw you, the workplace isn't a dictatorship and they all came out and took a knee to demonstrate their right to do so, it would be like employees walking out on strike against an abusive boss. So beware what you ask for when it comes to the workplace dynamic. By the way, I enjoyed the reporter giving Jones a piece of his mind when he observed him at practice not only wearing a hat during the anthem but talking during it as well. What's the saying? Do as I say not as I do.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. If the anthem is so important, concession stands should stop selling goods, all cameramen should stop moving the camera and stand with hand over heart, announcers need to shut the hell up, and so on and so on. The only people moving around are those with weak bladders making a run for the toilet. Just saying.

NFL quid pro quo relationships:
League-Owners
Owners-Players Union
Owners-GM
Owners/GM-Coaching Staff
Coaches-Players
Owner/GM-Players

Yes owners have a say what players do or don’t do on the field. The League have a say what owners say or don’t say about policies that reflect the league. It be no different than a player saying things that reflect the team negatively in public interviews.
The NFL is a business and everyone..EVERYONE..has to play their part and not embarrass the other.

I agree. The NFL is a publically subsidized business. The players are employees and their offices are the stadijms and training area's.
If they want to bitch about my flag and the ideals it represents do it on their personal time and away from work. This in your face, childish "I'm kneeling for something bigger than me" BS needs to be left outside.
I don't agree with kneeling but I will not gripe if they keep their personal opinions to themselves......as I do.

As much as I cannot stand the Cowboys, and I support taking a knee, I cannot stand Jerry Jones. His reputation as a team owner sucks if you read what he does in meetings. He’s also a damn hypocrite on this. He had nothing good to say about taking a knee until he and the other owners got called SOBs. NOW you’re ready to take a ‘stand’ or a knee in solidarity? The hell with him. Hes talking all this mess because Trump calls him directly to voice his opinions knowing Jerry will bend over and take it. I’m a Skins fan till the end, I cannot stand the teams owner either, but at least Schnyder is keeping his opinions to the team and not running his gums to any and everyone. Jones also has a personal beef with Goodell regarding his new contract, and how he wasn’t consulted about new rules, policies, and punishments given to team players. I didn’t like the Cowboys of old, but under Landry, they had class. Under the previous ownership they had class. Under Jerry their just asses. It’s convenient to say nothing is happening when it won’t and can’t affect your life or loved ones, but if it impacts your bottom line....NOW you have a problem?
