It was bad governance, corruption and organizers from the Saddam Hussein government who are not captured who unified with Isis to dominate after we left. If the central government doesn't take care of the rural provinces and does not make peace with the Kurds, I can see this happening again. Good thing I won't be deploying. I went to enough ramp ceremonies in Northern Iraq (Kirkuk/FOB Warrior)in 2005.

I had not seen your last responce until this am Sir.
ISIS is never going away. We can defeat it on the ground. But it is an ideology. It continues to happen in Iraq as it is the military force of all the Sunni's being oppressed by the Iragi Shia government. Whom the Sunni believe are Apostates.
Sir, the next military board meeting you attend, please ask to start arming borth sides again.
Have a good day LTC.

There was a time when I thought that the ideology could be beaten.... and then we played into it and ended up strengthening it.... and yet it was still with weakness. Then the PRC started its concentration and re-education camps.... and I no longer think we can beat the ideology when it is going to generate fighters for decades now in Central Asia. The long term question now looks to be as to When the US pulls out of Afghanistan.. and at what point the war shifts from the US to the PRC lead....

Good morning Sir,
ISIS has made threats ahead of the 4th of July Holiday.
Do you think the issue for the west is to stop letting in those who believe murdering the Infidel while living on the government sugar nipple is justified? For the last 1400yrs we have seen this over and over with the religion/political system of submission. Sunni, or Shia.
Iran's 12ers will usher in the end of days. So, the 12th Imam will come out of that well. I hope I am wrong.
I know you will hold your cards close to your chest on this issue/s. These are crazy times we live in. On another front in the war on culture, a Bishop in El Paso just helped illegal aliens cross a bridge. Now, that times 20 million is an invasion.
Have a great day LTC. Please stay away from large cities and crowds.

Mark - that is no more effective that making it easier for those wanting to go fight that are already citizens of a nation to depart. It plays on the containment solution that talking heads have kept bringing up for years now - missing the point that you can not contain an ideology .... you can attack it and disrupt it - but you can not contain it.
