Correction, F-14 Tomcats

LTC (Join to see) - I would be amazed if their Phoenix's work by now. Even if the missiles do work then we have to consider the number of flyable F-14's the might have.
I say this because I was in VF-11, F-14 squadron. Those Tomcats are great jets. But the maintenance time is huge and I doubt they have the part resources and skill to keep them in the air as much as we did. I could be wrong, though all of the reports I have ever read they were always struggling to keep some in the air. Those that could fly a percentage were not fully mission capable.
If they have honestly replaced the avionics with new systems and new weapon systems they still have a engine and air frame issues to over come for a jet that made its first flight in 1970.

Thanks for your comments! You may be right! These Jets, even with new avionics, still have old air frames. I just gave Ingenuity to the Iranians because they have been able to remanufacture F-4 Phantoms. If they have this skill or know how and they're fanaticism, they may be able to just overcome all the portals to make these planes flyable again. I also consider the arrange to be Kamikaze like in their s h i a mentality of martyrdom. We need to expect the unexpected because remember and injured animal who is cornered can actually be very deadly. And I'm concerned the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter not supported by the F-22, the F-16 or the F-18 will be an easy target if we get in the shooting War with the evil Iranians.

And the F-15 Strike Eagle. I forgot that one.
