Lt Col Charlie Brown, very soothing thank you, getting a CAT Scan tomorrow, also found out that my primary care physician has referred me to a doctor to treat me for cirrhosis of the liver. He had told me that it was enlarged however I attributed that to my HEP-C. I no longer have HEP-C because I took 12 weeks of Harvona.

So let's see, I am having aCAT Scan tomorrow,
Cardiologist, Liver Doc, am going to have colonoscopy. All this month LoL looks like my body is getting it's revenge for all the abuse I put it through the years.

PO3 Bob McCord, and Lt Col Charlie Brown, well the best layed plans of mice and men, can be a complete catastrophe. Here I go up to the hospital in Big Springs, expecting to get the CAT-Scan done and be on my way. I n my life I have had probably 30 times where I had to get iodine from Kidney Stones to The Cervical spine areas, never a problem.

However today, she got the IV going then hooked it up to the pump that would inject it when she gave it a signal. She shoots what she needed to comes back gets me off the IV, then draws me back through the tube, when she gets through tells me to sit up, I sat up and.....

Ok just making sure that I haven't lost you guys yet. Yes I am doing this because what happened next scared me to death. After sitting up on the machine, I looked over where all my stuff was, my face started feeling hot I couldn't catch my breath I felt like I was going to vomit, or pass out. Well the soon had a bunch of people getting me on a stretcher and down the elevator and in to Urgent Care. I AM OFFICIALLY APOLOGIZING FOR ANY DISPARAGING REMARKS THAT I MAY HAVE MADE ABOUT THE VA HOSPITAL IN BIG SPRINGS. To say by now I am freaking out, hoping that I pass out because if I did vomit it would be dry heaves. And then I really wouldn't be able to breathe. They quickly started another IV gave me Benadryl and a steroid,. My BP tank, I found one position that felt comfortable and stayed there by the time I could l think straight, and try and get a pic most of the red was gone. Anyway you can see how pail I am. And now 'Drum Roll Please \/\/\/' I am now officially allergic to the iodine contrast and can't use it.
Sorry for boring you'll to death this is just getting it out of my head so someone else can worry about it. JK

Unfortunately, just because you were not allergic to it before doesn't mean you can't develop an allergy to it. You were definitely in the right place if that was going to happen. And yes, it is very scary but you will be okay.

PO3 Bob McCord, I am not sure why as Lt Col Charlie Brown said you can go years, even decades and be fine, then your body suddenly says that it doesn't like this in your body and in the past year I have had a lot of different procedures which used contrast. I am wondering what would of happened if I hadn't sit up, I was fine until then. Big Spring is about 90 miles NE of San Angelo. I have to ride the VA shuttle up and while I was in Urgent Care was worrying about me causing the guys who rode up with me, having to wait, and wondering if they were going to wait. They did wait and told me that everything was good. I normally ask the driver of the shuttle on the way back to just drop me off on the corner near where I live, heck he took me to my doorstep.
