Thank you my friend CW5 Jack Cardwell for sharing the music video of I Was Made For Lovin' You covered by SILENZIUM
"Silenzium (Silentium, the changed Silentium, Russian silence ) is a Novosibirsk group created in 2004 by former students of the Novosibirsk Conservatory. The group was named after Tyutchev's poem Silentium, as Natalia's group leader explains her choice:
« In general, silence is the best music, because all music is born from silence. Even when there is silence around, music already exists. In the shower. As Pasternak said, "Silence is the best I've heard." First there is nothing, this is silence. Then the universe emerges from nothing.
Home (2004-2006)
Ideological inspiration of the group was Natalia Grigorieva, cellist, at the moment is the artist of the Chamber Orchestra of the Novosibirsk Philharmonic (since 2003 [1] ) and in parallel with this play in a string quartet Cellissimo, on whose ruins arose two ensembles - «Viva Cello» and «Silenzium ". The first team focused on folk-rock, and the second - on a "heavier" sound. Natalia played in both groups [1]. She also became an arranger and composer, creating material for the band Silenzium. Soon the rest of the group was found - Pavel and Serge, violins, and Misha, alto, who played in the symphony orchestra of the Philharmonic. Vladimir contrabass began to play. Thus, the composition of the group was quite academic - two violins, an alto, a cello and a double bass [2] .
Natalia arranges some of the most famous "metal" works, and the group begins to work on them. By the end of the summer, the band is recording a demo CD, which includes tracks like " Fade to black " and " Creeping death " from Metallica , " SOS " and " Anthem of the world " bands Stratovarius , as well as other metal hits. Incidentally, it becomes clear that the group needs a drummer. And at the end of the summer Ilya Grebenshchikov comes to the group. The work went faster - all the existing material with percussion was played, the songs of the Linkin Park group - " One step closer ", and the System of a down - " Chop Suey!" [2] . At that time, the group had only two own things, and for the composition "Maria" the theme was composed by Oleg Trifonov in honor of the former lover, and Natalia arranged the arrangement [1] .
Storm (2007-2009)
In early 2007, the band released the album "Interrupted Silence" [1] [3] . In 2007, the band actively performs in Novosibirsk and beyond [4] . In November 2008, the composition is significantly updated. In the group, the violinist Paul and viola player Mikhail are replaced by Julia Makarova and Maria Tsevan, and drummer Ilya Grebenshchikov is replaced by a professional drummer - Timofei Temirbayev, who is working in the orchestra of the Opera Theater. And in January 2009, instead of a double bass, the group starts to function bass guitar in the person of Elena Pilgueva, a contrabassist of the chamber orchestra and laureate of international competitions. Olga Mikhailova, violinist by education, performed vocal parts in covers of Evanescence and Queen bands[5] .
As Grigorieva herself noted, the group's style gradually changed, departing from the traditional "metallic" sound to the more "classical" sound (Natalia at that time herself preferred to call her style "newclassic"). At the same time, the repertoire on one side was significantly expanded by its own classics treatments, on the other hand, the course was continued to create their own compositions ("Northern Lights", "Aevum", etc.). In addition, as an obligatory component of the band's performance, it was decided to make a colorful show [5] . Around this period, the group moves from a two-color (white / black) style to three-color (white / black / red), and the female part of the group puts on "horns" [6] .
At the end of 2008 there is an album Storm, consisting of rock-processing of classical works.
Covers (2009-2010)
In September 2009, work was completed on the new album "Covers", which consisted of cover versions of famous "metal" works, and there were plans to record a new album with the preliminary title "Northern Light", consisting mainly of ethnic music. A distinctive feature of the new album was planned to make more significant use of female vocals [6] .
Fly away (2010-2011)
In the existing at that time, the group played for almost 2 years, followed in 2010 by a global reduction of the composition to 4 people. As a result, the group left two violinists, a cellist and a drummer. The rest of the games were replaced by a playboy. The group in its image finally makes a bet on sexuality [7] . In this composition, the group records the album "Fly away", consisting of Natalia Grigorieva's own compositions in an ethno-manner.
