This was a court decision......not a Democrats decision. Approved by Democrats? How so? The Obama administration had a dilemma in trying to figure out how best to deal with the court order and stay in compliance with it. They handled it differently than the Trump administration just elected to do.....but I don't think either administration liked falling under the constraints of this court order. My question is this: if the Trump administration did what they did because they thought this court order required them to........why did they not take that position until 16 months into their administration? Why didn't this crisis hit back in January or February of 2017?

Because it is a manufactured crisis.

LTC (Join to see) - Are you saying that they were doing the same thing in February of 2017 that they are doing now? When the "zero tolerance" policy was announced two months ago, it changed nothing? Our system for housing children of detainees is being overwhelmed for no reason whatsoever, not because of anything the Trump administration did? This is a fake crisis? Really????

SSgt Gary Andrews I used the term manufactured. You used fake. If this was a pressing issue then you and your feelings would have been triggered long before now. We have numerous consulates and Embassies throughout the world. Why is it that the majority of asylum seekers file paperwork using the proper system? Are these folks Special? Are they also like HRC where laws don't apply to them? The 9/11 Commission discovered the failed immigration process that allowed the hiijackers to over stay their visas. Why do you want another 9/11? Why shouldn't we secure our country?

LTC (Join to see) - I feel much safer with those 4 year old and younger folks in our custody.......you bet. And I understand that a number of those people did approach a proper border crossing station to ask for asylum, but were told to come back another time. Having spent every dime they had to get there, they now found themselves in a desperate situation......unable to wait indefinitely on the other side of the border until they could submit their application. You have to ask yourself this: How bad were conditions they fled from, to be willing to risk their lives, and the lives of their children, to cross through extremely treacherous areas, not knowing if they will even be given a hearing for asylum in the U.S.?
